The company was looking for a partner who could actively collaborate on the ambitious and detailed requests of Gategroup AG’s designers and architects, transparently compare costs, and present alternatives backed by expert analysis. Since the booth represented eight different subsidiaries of Gategroup AG, close and continuous communication was essential. Since an entire exhibition hall had been booked for the booth, a direct line of communication with the trade show organizer was also necessary.
For the gate group’s trade show appearance, we created an extraordinary brand presentation that brought the company’s innovative strength and diversity to life through a unique spatial concept. Given the integration of eight sub-exhibitors, close and continuous coordination with the gate group’s design teams was essential. Throughout the entire planning phase, we implemented a dynamic proposal and change management process in which all adjustments and decisions were transparently documented. Drawing on our many years of trade show construction expertise, we worked with the client to develop and implement numerous detailed decisions.
The entrance area alone made a strong design statement: a reception desk and a semi-transparent curtain stretched behind it created a sense of anticipation and offered only a faint glimpse of the actual trade show booth. The concept of a “box in the exhibition hall” piqued curiosity and guided visitors along a staged walkway—inspired by an airport runway—into the gate group’s world of experience.
The first section of the booth welcomed guests with a spacious hospitality area featuring a bar, a bistro, and the “Dester Wall,” where custom-made exhibits were displayed. This area was complemented by an impressive moss wall and a large-format LED screen, which attracted significant attention even from a distance.
Further along, an exclusive dining area with a professional show kitchen opened up. To create a high-end atmosphere, we worked with our partners to have custom-made leather armchairs produced and coordinated with the overall concept. The finale was the impressive “Wonder Wall,” which combined custom-made floor inlays with an integrated robotic system, thereby impressively showcasing the gate group’s technological expertise.
The technical implementation placed the highest demands on planning and coordination. The integrated industrial kitchen alone required the installation and connection of over 156 electrical outlets throughout the entire exhibition booth. A detailed load calculation was performed for the electrical design and surge protection to ensure the safe and smooth operation of all systems.
To complement the hall concept, we created a fully customized outdoor area featuring containers, bespoke furniture, and large-format graphic displays, thereby extending the brand’s presence beyond the hall’s boundaries.
During the setup phase, more than 46 installers and four project managers worked up to 14 hours a day to complete the complex trade show booth on schedule. At the same time, last-minute client requests and adjustments were flexibly implemented—a result of precise planning, well-coordinated processes, and an experienced project team.
